Antique Postcard CollectionMost items in this collection were generously donated to the Library by Henry "Spud" Murphy ("The Murphy Postcard Collection). Others smaller portions were donated by Carl Soule, Jr., Beverly Stone, and other individual donations. Digitized with the support of a grant from the Reading Celebration Trust's Historical Preservation Fund.

Reading Historical ImagesThese photographs have been the property of the Reading Public Library for many years. They were digitized with the support of a grant from the Reading Celebration Trust's Historical Preservation Fund. One portion of the collection was the personal photo album of Mrs. Albert F. (Martha Cook) Converse, others are donations to the collection from various individuals.

Highland School CelebrationIn March 2013 teachers and students from the old Highland School returned to the library to share their experiences with us. Many of the visitors from this special day brought photographs and other memorabilia from their time at the Highland School.

Pandemic Peace and PromiseThis is a community-wide photo, digital heritage, and media project. This project allowed our community to share the practices and activities we developed to sustain ourselves through the pandemic, establish connection even while physically distanced, and record this historically significant time for posterity.

Reading High School Senior Class PhotographsThe 1905 and 1906 photographs in this collection were generously donated to the Library by Suzette and David Winchester of Wolfeboro, NH. The 1934, 1935, and 1936 photographs in this collection were generously donated to the Library by John Howard of Dublin , Ireland.

Our Town, Your StoryWho is the Town of Reading? We are all ages, backgrounds, histories, and perspectives – we all have our own story. All of Reading was invited to bring in photos to added to the collection. Participants also had the option to “tell the story” behind the photos on video.
