Welcome to our Digital Heritage collection!

The Stoneham Public Library's Digital Heritage collection presents oral history recordings relating the history of our community. A collection of historic postcards will be added soon.

A movement that began in the late 1858 by prominent citizens in the Town of Stoneham culminated in the opening of the Town’s first library in May 1859.

The current Library has had a history of gifts and donations, from collections of books to funds for building purposes, including $15,000 from Andrew Carnegie in 1904 and trust funds from the estate of Annie Hamilton Brown in 1931.  Throughout its history, the Stoneham Public Library also has offered a variety of services to Stoneham’s citizens and visitors and has enjoyed strong public support.  The Library currently houses almost 100,000 items and offers access to wireless internet, a variety of online databases and unique digital collections.
