- Postcard shows the Congregational Church on the west side of Wakefield Common. The granite church, built in 1892, was the fourth church on the site. It was destroyed by fire in 1909. A new church of similar design was rebuilt and dedicated in 1912. On the right is the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial, erected in 1902 to commemorate Wakefield's Civil War casualties.
