COVID Chronicles with Day & Phil
-
In Episode 9 of COVID Chronicles, Josiah sat down with our members Day and Phil. They are the creators of the Eat Drink Explore podcast. Check out their podcast on our website: peabodytv.org/podcast-studio
-
Day and Phil Bugler, creators of the "Eat, Drink Explore" podcast discuss how local restaurants are adapting during the pandemic, the benefits of restaurant apps such as Toast, UberEats, Grubhub, etc. They talk about explosion of "panic shopping" and how some restaurants filled the gaps on grocery store shelves by selling basics such as flour and eggs. They also laud the new law allowing patrons to purchase alcohol for takeout from restaurant. Day applauds local businesses and organizations, such as the Peabody Essex Museum's and its "PEM Pals" children's program, for finding inventive ways to provide programs and services to the community--some free and some for a fee. She also acknowledge difficulties of parents of school-aged children. Finally, the couple talk about the evolution of their podcast and their future goals for their business.
