COVID Chronicles with Lisa Love

In Episode 1 of COVID Chronicles, Josiah sat down with Lisa Love from the Lisa Love Experience band.

Lisa Love, lead singer with the Lisa Love Experience, a local dance band, discusses the band's new virtual shows which she calls the "Corona Stay Home Tour." The shows are on FaceBook Live on Saturday nights and the band accepts "tips" on the Venmo and PayPal apps. These shows help ensure an income for band members, but the band also donates ten percent of their tips to first responders in the form of masks and free food. They provide incentives, including rolls of toilet paper, to the highest tippers. Lisa also owns a wedding band company and discusses the impact of the pandemic on that business, with brides rescheduling. She explains her motivation not just to "put food on the table" but to help others through her performances.
