178, 190 & 204 Washington Street: Melrose, Mass.
-
A pictorial record of a multi-generational family - Squires, Morcombe and Scrannage living at 178, 190 and 204 Washington Street during the 1880s. Collection of photographs range from the mid to late 19th century.
-
Pearl Squires was the great-great granddaughter of Mr. Atkinson, and the last surviving member of the original family of owners of that Washington Street property. John Atkinson had owned the cascades and land adjacent to Black Rock since 1936. 204 Washington Street is the last of that estate remaining in the descendants' hands into the 20th century.
-
All notations written on the back of the photographs are made by Pearl E. Squires.
